Heading up to Easter (from my reading):
The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head. They clothed him in a purple robe and went up to him again and again, saying, “Hail, king of the Jews!” And they slapped him in the face. (John 19:2, 3 NIV)
My reaction and further thoughts:
Being a person with a short temper, this challenged me. I couldn’t even make it to the fact they slapped them. The fact that that mocked him; if that were me, that would’ve been enough to get my blood boiling. And even in that AND being slapped, Jesus didn’t sin.
As the saying goes…life is 10% what happens and 90% how we respond. As corny and cliche as it may sound, we still have to ask, what would Jesus do.
It’s not always about you. Sometimes it’s about your witness.
Be blessed and prosper.
